Last school year, Indian Springs School District 109 mourned the loss of several staff and a Junior High student who died by suicide. Since then, the Commission has made several efforts to bring more education and support to the Bridgeview and Justice communities. This summer, NAMI Metro Suburban will facilitate 45-minute Mental Wellness Workshops once per week in local summer camps, including Aqsa School in Bridgeview, Bridgeview Park District, and the Justice Park District. These workshops will be incorporated into their summer camp curriculum for participants 10 years and older. Some of the workshops include: vision boards making, mindfulness exercises, yoga, and more.
