Created in 1972 pursuant to a township-wide referendum, the Commission provides funding to social service agencies that provide direct services to residents of Lyons Township with mental health and substance use disorders, as well as residents with developmental disabilities. Since its inception over 50 years ago, the Commission has disbursed over $100 million in support to assist residents of the Township of Lyons.

Our vision is to foster a trauma-informed and healing-centered Township through community engagement, comprehensive programming, and educational resources addressing mental health, substance use disorder, and developmental disabilities.
